Jackson Museum of Natural Science
We were here for just a few days and I'm not sure why we decided to go to the Museum of Natural Science, but I'm really glad that we did. I think that we were just looking for something to do to get out of the rain, as the weather wasn't very good. It was on Riverside Drive and had a massive aquarium with lots of native Mississippi fish and creatures. There was also a big swamp area with some vicious looking alligators. Bird waters will enjoy the nature area, which is massive with a capital M. There were some nice pathways around the main nature areas.

Jackson Zoo - lots of animals, lots of fun!
When we went to Jackson Zoo (West Capitol Street) our first impressions were that this really was like any other big city zoo. It had all the animals that you would expect to see, like lions and elephants, and that kind of thing. What we soon came to notice is how happy they all seemed to be. The keepers had gone to a lot of trouble to make their enclosures interesting and provide them with things to play with and keep them active, and hiding their food and things like that. A real credit to them.
